Aaron Jasper
Aaron Jasper was elected to the Park Board in 2008.
He has been a community leader in the city for several years. For the past 6 years, Aaron has been a Director with the West End Residents Association where he has been active with several initiatives with the goals of promoting sustainability and increasing citizen participation to addresses the many challenges in our neighbourhoods.
Aaron was a founding member of the Save St. Paul’s Hospital Coalition and Renters at Risk campaign. Aaron was actively involved in the redevelopment of Nelson Park where he advocated for the inclusion community gardens and a fenced off dog area. More recently, he helped organize the West End’s first Car-Free Festival and is currently working on the West End Greenway project. In 2007, Aaron was voted “Unsung Hero” by readers of the WestEnder.
Under Gregor Robertson’s leadership, Aaron is committed to the Park Board playing a key role in helping Vancouver become environmentally and socially sustainable.
Aaron believes our parks, beaches and community centres are essential to the quality of life for everyone, throughout our city. Through citizen engagement, Aaron will work towards the renewal of our parks and community centres, and ensure the accessibility of quality programming for all.
For the past 8 years, Aaron has lived in the West End with his wife Arminder.
